As a proud member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council, G. ROMANO is committed to employing sustainable practices in the manufacturing of our furniture. We have instituted many eco-conscious initiatives and are engaging our entire workforce in thinking about ways to further advance our green approach to manufacturing.

G. ROMANO's collection features the following eco-friendly features:

The hardwood and plywood used in G. ROMANO frames are sourced only from responsibly managed forests in Canada & the US. In 2013 we have introduced as an option to produce some of our bases and legs of natural reclaimed wood.

It has never been G. ROMANO's practice to employ foam containing flame retardant chemicals (FR foam) in any of our upholstered furniture, except for a very limited number of shipments to California where the use of FR foam was required by law. Since the change in the California regulation TB-117-2013 in January 2014, we can now certify that our entire line is now FR free. We are evolving our green offering by introducing GOLS certified organic latex foam (natural latex), as an option in the construction of a new Verde line of natural sofas that we are developing.

All G. ROMANO feather inserts are OEKO-TEX certified to be free of harmful substances.

Water-based adhesives are used in frame construction and in some of our upholstery.  Wood leg and base stains are entirely water based.

The sinuous springs used in G. ROMANO's seating is sourced in North American & contains up to 60% recycled steel.

G. ROMANO's eco-friendly fabrics include OEKO-TEX & GOTS certified patterns.

Look for the VERDE symbol.

G. ROMANO's packaging is 100% recyclable.  Employees helped implement a comprehensive recycling program that they participate in on a daily basis.

G. ROMANO's entire collection is handmade and built to last in our Montreal factory. Energy comes from renewable hydroelectric power and we have implemented energy conserving measures to reduce our carbon footprint.

G. ROMANO will continue to find ways to decrease its environmental impact.
